Practice Tests, Etc

This website (http://ieltsforfree.com/) has free practice tests as well as lessons about different parts of the IELTS exam.

I haven’t looked at it in detail, but the one flaw I noticed is that the listening questions are not always in order as they will be on the test. Otherwise, it seems quite good.

Practice Tests

This website http://www.canadavisa.com/ielts/free-practice-tests.html has 2 practice tests for each skill. The reading and writing are general task because it is a site for people immigrating to Canada, but it is still good practice!

TED

Ted talks (TED.com/talks) is a great way to practice listening to academic lectures, like listening section 4. You can practice listening for general understanding, as well as details such as writing down all the names or verbs or numbers, etc that you hear, and then comparing it to the transcript afterward.

It can also give you ideas for essays and speaking part 3.
